El libro titulado Abya Yala Wawgeykuna fue presentado el 25 de abril en el Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares de Puebla, México. Abya Yala es la palabra en el idioma del pueblo Kuna para el continente Americano. El libro es un homenaje a las tradiciones y costumbres de América Latina.  Recoge los modos de vida, manifestaciones artístico-culturales, creencias, identidad y al pasado y presente de distintos pueblos americanos.

The Garifuna Language, dance and music

Garifuna communities mainly live in Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Belize.  The Garifuna language is rich in stories (úraga). Their music and melodies have African and Amerindian influences and are usually accompanied by drums and dances. Although the language is still widely spoken, it is now taught in only one village.

The traditional oxcart or carreta

In Costa Rica, the tradition of decorating oxcarts started in the early twentieth century. Nowadays, the carretas remain a strong symbol of Costa Rica’s rural past and history. Costa Ricans are proud of this traditional art: there are even creative carreta contests!

Peru in one minute

It borders Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil to the east, Bolivia to the southeast, Chile to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The Instagram tour — the first of its kind in Central America — brought together leading instagrammers from U.S., Sweden, Latin America and Spain.
