Grain Design is a socially and environmentally responsible textile company, which combines current manufacturing technologies and age-old craft techniques. James and Chelsea Minola, founders of Grain Design, met in Guatemala, where they discovered the region’s fabric-making techniques, including the use of foot looms and indigenous-plant dyes. In 2008, they began to design and produce a line of products that are created as sustainably as possible in collaboration with Mayan artisan communities in Guatemala.
