This session explores a variety of instructional strategies and approaches that help make instruction delivered in English comprehensible to students whose first language is not English and enable ELL to access academic and gradelevel appropriate content. Participants learn and practice strategies derived from second language acquisition theory and practice (Total Physical Response and Storytelling, natural approach, controlled language according to language proficiency, differentiated instruction, etc.).
